March 15th, 2021 - Pak-Turk Maarif sturdily believes that Learning never stops, not even for Trainers! Pak-Turk Maarif organized its 2nd Teacher Development Programme in collaboration with IUCSEM (Istanbul University - Cerrahpaşa, Continuing Education Center). IUCSEM highly competent Professors guided 118 trainers from 27 campuses of Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools and Colleges to incorporate technology with education. Total of 5 case studies were conducted by teachers in this process for improving the quality of interactive education.
TDP consists of two modules. In the first module, the main focus was given to the foundation of education and advancement of learning theory and cognitive models, the communication between students and teachers in the learning process, and the impact of the interactive classroom. Main theories of the learning and cognition process were investigated through 5 presentations given by the teachers.
The second module comprises of enhancing classroom practice by using state-of-the-art technology and classroom tools. Through web-interactive and engaging sessions, teachers learned how to increase educational motivation levels among students, establish rules for the classroom, provide unblemished instructions, and incorporate teamwork. Assessment and evaluation were addressed as the final enhancement area along with the incorporation of student portfolios, and presentation strategies. 5 group presentations were given by teachers to show what they have learned in this process.
The main aim of this program was to ensure the application of modern technology by the teachers in the modern age, to increase the effectiveness of the school system, to increase opportunities for career advancement, and to provide opportunities for career advancement with associated benefits. Professional teaching skills and innovative approaches not only make it easy for teachers to teach but also make sure that students are actively involved in the learning process.
