In a proud and historic achievement, students of Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools and Colleges have secured first prize in the TÜBİTAK Social Innovation Competition (Middle School Category) at TEKNOFEST 2025, held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The award was personally presented by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The winning project, titled “Emotion Detector Gadget for Quadriplegic,” was developed by Asma Fatima and Inaya Khan, students of the Lahore Dream Garden Campus. Competing under the team name Maarif Scientist 25, their groundbreaking innovation earned high praise for its social impact and originality. The device aims to enhance the quality of life for individuals with quadriplegia by detecting and conveying emotional states, bridging critical communication gaps.
The students were guided by their mentor, Ms. Gohar Khursheed, and represented the institution’s commitment to fostering empathy-driven, solution-oriented innovation among learners.
TEKNOFEST, recognized as the world’s largest festival of aerospace, science, and technology, drew thousands of participants from across the globe. The festival serves as a premier platform for young scientists and tech enthusiasts to present pioneering ideas before panels of leading experts.
This momentous win is a significant milestone not only for Pak-Turk Maarif International but also for Pakistan, reflecting the country’s growing contribution to global scientific and technological advancements.
The award ceremony was celebrated as a vibrant symbol of the enduring educational and cultural ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, reinforcing the shared vision of both nations to empower the next generation of changemakers.
