Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Selim Kiran held talks with a delegation from Turkish Maarif Foundation regarding the handover process of the schools in Pakistan to the Turkish Maarif Foundation.
The Deputy Foreign Minister Selim Kıran and the President of Turkish Maarif Foundation Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün with his delegation had first of all contacts with Pakistan.
The delegation, that met with the Undersecretary of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training of Pakistan Ershad Mirza, discussed on the handover process to Turkish Maarif Foundation of Pak-Turk schools in Pakistan.
Then the delegation and the Deputy Foreign Minister Kıran met with the State Minister of Interior Shehriyar Han Afridi.
As a result of the meeting, important decisions were taken regarding the future of Pak-Türk schools.
Turkish Ambassador to Islamabad Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Turkish Maarif Foundation Board of Trustees Member Ass. Dr. Cahit Bağcı accompanied representants of the Turkish Maarif Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kıran, who met with the Undersecretary of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training of Pakistan Ershad Mirza, explained that the Pakistani authorities have well understood the warning made regarding FETO.
Kıran, said:
"We reiterate our request to transfer of FETO school to Turkish Maarif Foundation because this is our essential in the fight against FETO. This organization exploited the feelings of our population through schools during many years. If this abuse is not stopped now, what happened in Turkey yesterday will happen tomorrow in other countries.”
