Nowruz Spring Festival 2022

Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools & Colleges Chak Shahzad Boys Campus Islamabad celebrated Nowruz Spring Festival 2022. Counselor for Education at the Turkish Embassy Islamabad, Dr. İlhami Ayrancı attended the festival along with the Country Director of Turkish Maarif Foundation in Pakistan, Mr. Harun Küçükaladağlı. Many prominent politicians, civil society members, embassies officials, teachers, students, and their families also participated in the festival. 

Nowruz (“now” means new and “ruz” means day): The festival of family and friends occurs when the season changes from winter to spring on the vernal equinox. The traditions of Nowruz are strong among people in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Canada, and the United States.

Nowruz Spring Festival was like blooming of the flower. Flowers bloom in nature, but people can bloom into an expanded and newer version of themselves by interacting with different cultures and traditions. Students and teachers arranged different cultural performances from Pakistan, Turkey, and Palestine. Cultural representation from every province of Pakistan made this festival for local people. There were many stalls including food stalls, Cultural stalls from Pakistan and Turkey, mud crafting, face painting, singing, free Psychological Assessment activity, Horse and Camel Riding. People enjoyed the swings, rides, and food. The purpose of this festival was to welcome a spring festival with different colors to promote peace and tolerance among people.

Guests and parents showed immense interest in the event and appreciated the efforts of Pak-Turk Maarif for hosting such an incredible festival in such a well-organized manner. We believe these activities not only bring people together but also unite the culture of both nations.
